Alisa Girard
Alisa was born and raised in Los Angeles in a Christian home, the daughter of Chuck Girard of Christian/rock pioneers, LoveSong. She spent her early youth, until she was 10, determined to become a world-class gymnast and investing a rigorous 30 hours a week toward that goal before her interests unalterably shifted to music and sharing her faith. Having already studied piano for some time, she began giving concerts as a teenager in California, as well as Arizona and as far north as Canada, all the while becoming deeply involved in inner-city outreach ministry. Both her loving heart and passion for ministry bore fruit when she moved to New York City for two years where she helped to run a church-founded urban youth center for two years.

Movies: I like those slow-moving English movies that are set in a different time period. I find them fascinating. I also like "Sense and Sensibility", "Babe: Pig in the City", "The Lion King", "Edward Scissorhands" and "Fried Green Tomatoes".
TV Shows: We don't get much of a chance to watch TV on the road!
Singers: God has given so many people so much talent. I would say that Sting, Bono (U2), Annie Lennox, Sinead O'Connor, and John Lennon are among those whose voices I respect.
Bands or Groups: delirious, Earthsuit, and Tree63.
CD's: Transform by Rebecca St. James and Mezzamorphis by delirious.
Songs on our CD's: "Give Me One Reason" from ZOEgirl because of the message, "Living for You" from ZOEgirl, and "The Truth" from Life.
Books: Of course, the Bible is the most important book, but I also like the Left Behind series and a book called Intimate Friendship with God by Joy Dawson.
Foods: Pretty much any kind of chicken, big salads with avocado, and watermelon. I really love seafood, also.
Ice Cream: This question is too difficult! Is there a bad flavor of ice cream? If I am forced to choose, it would be butter pecan or peanut butter chocolate. Mmmm...
Sports: Baseball, hockey, ice skating, and gymnastics.

Color: Depends on what it's for. If it's clothes, I like black. If it's what color I like in general, it would be lavender or baby blue.
Mall: Lenox Square in Atlanta.
Store: Right now, I love Sephora.
Brand of clothes: I don't think I have a favorite, but I like DKNY, Bebe, and Guess.
Nail Polish: My favorite is a french manicure.

FROM ALISA:
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up and: Sing for Jesus.
Now that I am grown up, I just want to be: Anointed in everything I do.
The best part of being in ZOEgirl is: Looking into the eyes of little girls and hoping that somehow you are making a difference in their lives.
The most difficult part of being in ZOEgirl is: How tiring it can be at times!
I love to hang out at: A good restaurant, coffee shop, or at home.
My idea of having fun is: Cooking a great meal for people I love.
Instruments I play: Piano and a little guitar.
Instruments I wish I played: DRUMS! I think girl drummers are so cool.
I wish I could live in: A house in the country surrounded by woods and lots of grass.
Spiritual influences: My parents. I learned so much from them over the years, and they are still my main counselors! I've also been influenced by a lot of people I have met that work with the homeless. My mom always made sure that we worked soup lines and were very involved with inner-city work. There are so many wonderful soldiers for Christ that work with the less fortunate every day that will never have their name on a CD or in a magazine. They are the heroes.
Nicknames: My family and Chrissy call me "Leessy". When I was a baby, my dad called me "Leessy Beesy".
The best advice anyone ever gave me is: From my mom. She said, "Whenever everything seems great and wonderful, fall to your knees and recognize that you only breathe because God chose to put air in your lungs."
FAST FACTS:
She loves to shop in Manhattan & Houston's Galleria.
Alisa's musical inspirations are her father, Steve Taylor, and Sheila Walsh.
When asked where she sees ZOEgirl in 5 years, Alisa says, "That is entirely up to God... I have no idea. I'll follow as He leads."
Alisa sings alto in the group.
Alisa currently lives in an apartment in Nashville, TN.
She was a Vegan for two years... meaning she didn't eat any meat or dairy products.
Some of Alisa's most embarrassing moments were when she fell on her head when she was a cheerleader at a competition and when her hair extensions fell out on stage!
Alisa says if she wasn't an artist, she'd be a missionary.
Alisa wants to visit Italy because she's intrigued by the culture and she has never been there before.
Alisa wishes she had written "My Redeemer" by Annie Herring.
Alisa has a kitten named Baxter. (He is actually the brother to Kristin's kittens!)
ALISA IS...
From Kristin: She is strong and vibrant. She is so deeply grounded and solid in her faith and is the truest example of what a Godly woman should be. She is wise beyond her years. Not only is she beautiful, talented, and extremely witty, but she is an amazing cook as well! If there's something wrong, she can always clear it up. The way she lives her life is a great example for me and the songs she writes are so full of passion! Crazy thing: She can really burp!!
From Chrissy: Alisa is one of the strongest Christians I've ever met in my entire life. Her life reflects her beliefs in every aspect, and that's something I truly admire and strive to be more like. She doesn't just talk the talk; she walks the walk. She is focused, determined, observant, and thoughtful. I guess that's why her lyric writing is so amazing. Alisa has challenged, inspired, and amazed me. She has truly influenced the way I now live my life. In concert, if the music fades away on the stage or something goes wrong, Alisa can change in one moment from singer to stand-up-comedian. If we get a difficult question by an interviewer, we always give them to Alisa. But in the morning, it's very difficult to wake her up! Crazy thing: She always cracks her fingers and TOES!

Don't lose your temper!

Kristin Swinford-Schweain
Kristin came to know the Lord at a young age as she was also raised in a Christian home. As a teenager, Kristin attended a Christian Youth Crusade and it was there that she realized God's calling for her in the music ministry. After her first year of college studying classical voice and piano, she moved to St. Louis to join a contemporary Christian singing group called Spirit Wing. There she had the opportunity to travel and work with the youth throughout Missouri and surrounding states. It was through that experience that she realized it was time to pursue her music ministry full time. God led her to Nashville in 1998 to study music at Belmont University where her sense of calling in music was solid, though her place in ZOEgirl was still a year from realization.

FROM KRISTIN:
When I was a kid, I wanted to grow up and: A singer and an actress.
Now that I am grown up, I just want to be: I am doing exactly what I want and love to do.
The best part of being in ZOEgirl is: Seeing the effect our music is making on people's lives. Looking into their eyes and seeing that it is really reaching them and making a difference amazes me every time.
The most difficult part of being in ZOEgirl is: It's hard to make time for myself, friends, and family. Because of what we do, we have to keep our schedules constantly open and flexible. That makes it really hard to make plans, because it seems like something always comes up and keeps me from following through with them. As a result, I don't get to go home and visit my family very much.

My idea of having fun is: Going to a movie and eating chocolate, Twizzlers, and popcorn.

KRISTIN IS...
From Alisa: She is deep and philosophical. She is one of the most even-tempered people I have ever met. She also is committed to Jesus with all of her heart, and I am amazed at the insight she gives in certain situations. She is also one of the most compassionate people I have ever met and is a peace-maker in every sense of the word. She feels such a great responsibility to live up to being a role model for young girls that she constantly strives to live at a higher standard. And she always makes me laugh.
From Chrissy: She is the girl who always goes the extra mile. She is probably the sweetest person I've ever met in my entire life. No matter where we are or what we're doing, Kristin never puts herself first. She is always looking out for others and has shown me what it takes to truly do that. I admire her patience and pure kindness. Even when she's tired, you never see a frown on her face. She is someone you can run to with any problem, and she will listen with her whole heart and never judge you. Kristin is also very creative! She is one of the nicest people on earth. She has a golden heart. She always talks to everybody! If she had the time, she would do everything for everybody. After concerts, when we have to leave, Alisa and I go lay in our beds, but Kristin stands outside talking with the fans... while the bus almost drives away! There are some crazy things about her... she talks in her sleep and she can talk for hours with some crazy voices!

Chrissy Conway
New Jersey native Chrissy Conway was a musically gifted child singing, dancing and performing since she was two. By her teens, Chrissy was in a group signed to a major recording contract out of Atlanta, only to become disillusioned when that group folded, leaving her questioning the purpose and future of her lifetime spent in music. The expectation of an appearance by R&B/pop stars, En Vogue, led her to a youth crusade led by evangelist Greg Laurie, where she was startled to find the message of grace, forgiveness and salvation far more impacting than the concert she'd expected. Committing her own life to Christ that night, Chrissy surrendered her musical endeavors to His will and intentions.
